Hibs have today confirmed the signing of free agent attacker Junior Hoilett.
The 34-year-old has signed a one-year-deal with the club until the summer of 2025.
Hoilett was a free agent after leaving Aberdeen, where he failed to agree terms on a new contract with their new boss Jimmy Thelin.
Hibs have been chasing him for a while and boss Davod Gray finally got his man today.
Speaking to the official club website, Gray said:
“Junior is someone who has been on our radar, especially after his positive end to the season with Aberdeen.
“Throughout his career he’s played at a very high level and adapted well to Scottish football last season. He adds extra options and quality to the final third, alongside leadership and experience to the dressing room. We look forward to working with him.”
Hoilett has played for the likes of Blackburn Rovers, QPR and Cardiff City and has been capped 63 times by Canada.
He has played over 500 games in his career and has appeared at a World Cup.
Hoilett can play on both wings, through the centre or as an attacking midfielder and brings some much needed freshness to the squad.
HIBERNIAN-MAD VIEW
It's good to have another player through the door at ER.
We have needed some bolstering in the forward areas, and with Myko already in, Hoilett secured and an announcement about Kieron Bowie imminent, things are looking up.
Welcome to Hibs Junior.
