Hibs sign Raith midfielder Dylan Tait in 100k deal

Last updated : 01 September 2021 By Steve Forbes

Hibs have today announced a final transfer deadline day signing, 12 hours after the window closed.

The Hibees confirmed that they managed to land Raith Rovers youngster Dylan Tait before the window closed last night.

Tait, 19, has signed a 4-year-deal at Easter Road and the transfer fee is believed to be in the £100,000 range.

Hibs have also confirmed that as part of the deal, Tait was instantly loaned back to Raith until January.

Speaking to the official club website, after signing on in Leith until 2025, Tait said:

"I’m delighted.

“It’s a massive club and I can’t wait to get going.

“I’ve been playing for Raith Rovers in League 1 and the Championship, so this is obviously a massive step up for me, but I’m over the moon to get here.

“I want to continue my form over the next few months and keep impressing the manager here, so when I come back in January the manager will give me a chance. I want to kick on and keep improving.”

Hibs boss Jack Ross added:

“Dylan is someone that we identified last season as a young player with enormous potential,” said Hibs Head Coach Jack Ross.

“He continued to show his ability in Raith’s early fixtures, and my staff and I are excited about working with him and continuing to develop his game.”

ED'S VIEW:

Good to see another young exciting Scottish player arriving at ER.

The Hibees have signed the likes of Daniel Mackay from ICT and Kyle Magennis from St Mirren over the past few months, and with the Tait signing the trend continues.

Hibs have pulled off a cracker here.

Welcome to the Hibees kid.
