Hibs sign Plymouth Argyle midfielder Alan Gow on loan

Hibs have tonight signed Plymouth Argyle midfielder Alan Gow on loan.

Gow joins the Hibees until the end of the season, and will go straight in to the squad for Saturday’s Scottish Cup tie with Montrose at Easter Road.

The Hibees did attempt to land Gow on a permanent 2-year-deal, but a loan deal was agreed due to the time limit as we approach the midnight deadline of the transfer window.

Speaking to the official website, Gow said:

"I'm delighted to be joining Hibernian to the end of the season and looking forward to working with John Hughes again.

"I know how the gaffer likes to play the game, and how well the team are performing at the moment, so I can't wait to meet the boys and start training."

Hibs Boss John Hughes was also delighted, he added:

"Alan is a player I admire tremendously, and I know what he's all about from our time together at Falkirk. The supporters have been fantastic since I've been at the club and it's always good to give them a lift at this time of year, so I'm delighted to get Alan to Hibernian for the rest of the campaign.

"He adds more real quality to the squad, and will hopefully raise the bar again in terms of what we are trying to achieve."

The 27-year-old had been linked with a move to both the Yams and Aberdeen, but there was only ever going to be one winner.

Gow has played for Clydebank, Airdrie United, Falkirk, Rangers and Plymouth, as well as loan spells with Norwich City & Blackpool, and he adds more quality to the squad, as the Hibees push for Europe.
