Hibs have today confirmed the signing of freed Barnsley wing back Nicky Cadden.

The 27-year-old, twin brother of Hibs wing back Chris Cadden, has joined the Hibees after his release from English side Barnsley.

Cadden has signed a three-year-deal at Easter Road and becomes the Hibees 7th summer signing.

Speaking to the official club website, Hibs boss David Gray said:

“Nicky is a player I have always admired, he brings great quality, consistency and is a top professional, so I am delighted to bring him in.

“He knows the Scottish game, he has a great delivery into the box, and has contributed goals and assists everywhere he has been. I am confident he will slot nicely into the dressing room straight away.”

Cadden can play anywhere down the left hand side and brings a wealth of experience having played over 350 games for the likes of Livingston, Ayr United, Forest Green Rovers and Morton.

He should also bring some much needed competition for Jordan Obita on the left of the defence.

HIBERNIAN MAD VIEW

Well that was one nobody seen coming!!!

He has a good record of goals and assists, scoring over 40 in his career, despite playing a lot as a wing-back.

The fact he is versatile and can play anywhere down that side is a huge plus, as the squad has been needing another player capable of playing at left-back since Lewis Stevenson left the club earlier this summer.

Welcome to Easter Road Nicky!!
