Hibs have today confirmed their fourth signing of the summer transfer window, with the capture of Aussie striker Jamie Maclaren.
Maclaren has re-joined the Hibees on a season-long loan deal from German club Darmstadt.
The 25-year-old joined the Hibees last January on a six-month loan, and the hitman score 8 goals in 15 appearances, which seen him catapulted into the Australian World Cup squad, sadly he never got any game time in Russia.
Maclaren returns to Easter Road to re-form his devastating partnership with Florian Kamberi, who also re-joined the club in a £100,000 deal from Grasshoppers.
Speaking to the official website, he said:
“A few factors drove me to come back. With the success that we had last season it just breeds confidence throughout the squad and, for me, scoring goals was important.
“After having the World Cup experience I want to kick on. This is the best club for me to be at to kick on.
“I think having a manager like Neil Lennon who backs me and every player in the squad, that’s who you want to play for. And the fans have also been on at me on social media since the break, so it’s nice to be wanted and valued.
“I’m just glad I’m here.”
He becomes Lennon's fourth summer capture, with the Hibees already signing the aforementioned Kamberi, as well as the impressive Stevie Mallan in a £200,000 deal from Barnsley and keeper Adam Bogdan on loan from Liverpool.
