Hibs have today announced the signing of Hull City striker James Scott on loan.
The 20-year-old former Motherwell striker has joined the Hibees until the end of the season, subject to international clearance.
Hibs apparently beat off Dundee United and St Mirren for his signature.
Scott should go straight into the first team squad for Sunday's trip to face Dundee at Dens Park.
Speaking to the official club website, Hibs boss Jack Ross said:
“I’m really happy to bring James to Hibernian for the season.
“He is a young player with enormous potential, and we believe we can help him achieve that, which in turn means he can deliver for us on the pitch.
“James is able to play anywhere across the front line and I am excited to both welcome him to the club and begin working with him.
“Finally, the support from Ron and the senior management at the club is greatly appreciated as we continue to try and drive forward.”
Scott started his career with Motherwell, before landing a £1.5m switch to Hull City last year. His move south has been stop/start due to injury, playing 36 times scoring 4 goals.
He has been capped by Scotland U21 and can play anywhere across the front-line.
ED'S VIEW:
On paper this looks an exciting signing for the Hibees.
A young kid who won himself a move south, but has struggled with injury since.
This loan move could help the lad get his career back on track.
Scott can play through the middle or on either wing, and will bring some much needed competition in an area we are very light in.
Doidge is out until Christmas at the very least, leaving us with on Kevin Nisbet and young Jamie Gullan as striking options.
Let's hope we are not finished in the market however, we are still running a pretty thin squad, and are desperate for a centre half.
We also need another striker and possibly a big powerful DM to give Gogic some competition.
