Hibs have moved quickly to tie up Huddersfield Town keeper Ryan Schofield on loan.
Schofield, 22, has joined the Hibees on loan for the rest of the season, after number two Kevin Dabrowski picked up a long-term injury.
Polish keeper Dabrowski has damaged ligaments in his shoulder, after a collision in training, and is facing months on the sidelines.
Hibs boss Lee Johnson, speaking to the official club website said:
“After Kevin’s injury, it was important that we brought in another good young ‘keeper to add extra competition in the goalkeeping area.
“Ryan is someone that has experience of the Scottish league, has performed well in the English Championship, and has a lot of ability. Not only that, but he’s also another good character to add to the dressing room.
“We welcome him to Hibernian FC and look forward to working with him.”
Schofield is no stranger to Scottish football, having had a previous loan spell with Livingston cut-short when the covid global pandemic hit. He only made 3 appearances for the West Lothian club.
He has also had loan spells with FC United, Telford United and Notts County.
The 6ft 3in keeper has also made 32 appearances for Huddersfield Town has has represented Ebgland at U18, U19 and U20 level.
HIBS-MAD VIEW:
It's a shame to see Kevin Dabrowski pick up an injury, he has fought through the youth academy and has impressed for the first-team when handed a chance.
Hopefully he returs soon.
It's good to see the club react so quickly to an injury.
The only other keeper we have is young Murray Johnson, who is only 17, and recently joined Airdrie on a short-term emergency loan.
Welcome to the Hibees Ryan!
