Hibs have today announced that they have completed their first signing of the summer transfer window.
The Hibees have completed the signing of striker Florian Kamberi for a fee in the region of £100,000 from Grasshoppers of Zurich.
Kamberi, 23, has signed a three-year-deal with the Hibees and returns to Easter Road after last season's superb loan spell.
Hibs activated a clause in the original loan deal with the Swiss club, that allowed them to pick him for a bargain fee when reports had English side Sunderland having offers of £1.8m turned down for the hitman.
Speaking to the official club website, Kamberi said:
“I am very happy to be coming back to Hibs. I want to continue where I left off and help the club to continue to improve. “We are in Europe and have a good squad, so it will be a good season I’m sure."
Hibs CEO Leeann Dempster added:
“He was a great success here last season, so I am really thrilled that we were able to bring him back on a permanent deal.
“Everyone at the club is eager for the on-field successes of the past three seasons to continue and signing Florian is a part of the jigsaw for the season ahead.”
A brilliant first signing for the Hibees!!
