Hibs have tonight announced the signing of goalkeeper Jordan Smith.

The 29-year-old free agent has signed a two-year-deal at Easter Road and becomes David Gray's fourth summer signing.

Smith replaces Jojo Wollacott who today joined Crawley Town, and will add competition for fellow new keeper Josef Bursik, who signed on loan from Belgian Champions Club Brugge.

He has spent most of his career with Nottingham Forest, but spent last season with Stockport County.

Smith has also had previous loan spells with the likes of Barnsley, Huddersfield Town and Mansfield.

Speaking to the official club website, Head Coach David Gray commented:

“We are excited to welcome Jordan to Hibernian FC.

“He is a player with good experience playing at a high level in the English Championship and has strong pedigree and high standards having spent over 20 years at Nottingham Forest.

“He will provide healthy competition with Joe (Bursik) and Max (Boruc) in the goalkeeping department and we are all excited to work with him.”

Hibernian FC Sporting Director, Malky Mackay added:

“With Jojo Wollacott departing, it was important that we acted quickly to bring in a new goalkeeper to provide competition for the number one jersey.

“Jordan is an experienced player, a good character and above all an excellent professional. We are all excited to see watch him progress here at Hibs.”

It's good to see we have moved quickly to replace Jojo Wollacott.

Smith has plenty experience and should give Bursik a run for his money for the number 1 spot at Easter Road.

Welcome to the Hibees Jordan!!
