Hibs have today confirmed their third captue of the summer window, with the capture of Gambian hitman Mamadou Bojang.
Bojang, 20, joins the Hibees on loan from Rainbow FC in his homeland on a season-long deal.
He spent last season in Portugal and has played for Ghana at U17 and U21 level, and is on the threshold of the full side.
Hibs apparently beat off competition from The MLS, Portugal and Sweden to land the player and they also have the option of signing him permanently written into the deal.
He can play as a striker or out wide and brings some much needed bolstering for out front-line.
Hibs boss Lee Johnson said:
“There was a lot of interest in him from Portugal, Sweden, and in the MLS, but he chose Hibs to be his home.
“He’s a player that’s incredibly hungry to succeed and I’m looking forward to seeing how quickly he can adapt to the Scottish game.
“I’m really pleased that we have an option to turn his loan into a permanent transfer as it gives him an added incentive to be a real success with us.”
Head of Recruitment Ian Gordon added:
“We have done a lot of work on Momodou and he has a lot of physical and technical attributes that stand out at his age.
“His data matches the positional profile that Lee Johnson wants from his attacking players, and he’s determined to reach his potential.
“The loan is a great option for us to see how he settles in Scotland and develops as a player.”
HIBS-MAD VIEW:
We know nothing of the player, but on paper he looks a decent signing.
He brings much needed fresh blood to the Hibees front-line, so let's hope he hits the ground running.
Welcome to the Hibees Mamadou.
