Hibs have announced their second signing of transfer deadline day, with the capture of Clyde keeper David Mitchell.

The 31-year-old has signed a two-year-deal at Easter Road and will be added competition for Matt Macey and Kevin Dabrowski.

Speaking to the official website, Hibs keeper coach Craig Samson said:

“We had a desire to add a third senior goalkeeper to the group and one that has a lot of experience of Scottish football.

“David completely fits that profile. He arrives at the club with a lot of experience in Scottish football playing throughout the pyramid and that will only benefit Matt and Kevin.

“David will work hard, drive the standard in training, compete with our other two goalkeepers, and help progress them as they continue to develop.”

Mitchell has previously played for the likes of Dundee and Stranraer.

ED'S VIEW:

Seems to be coming in to coach and be no.3.

Not one we expected but he gets our backing.

Welcome to the Hibees David.
