Hibs have today announced the signing of Celtic midfielder Hyeokkyu Kwon.
The 23-year-old has joined the Hibees on loan until the end of the current season.
Kwon joined the Glasgow club last summer on a 5-year-deal from K-League 2 side Busan IPark, and then spent the second half of last season on an impressive loan spell with St Mirren.
Speaking to the official club website, Hibs boss David Gray said:
“Hyeokkyu provides us with another option in midfield being able to play as both a deeper 6 and as an 8.
“As a player, he’s a great athlete, he’s very competitive, and comfortable on the ball. He showed these capabilities during an impressive loan spell last season.
“We’re delighted to bring him to the Club and look forward to working with him.”
6ft 3in Kwon has been capped at international level for South Korea until U23 level.
HIBERNIAN-MAD VIEW
An excellent signing for the Hibees.
We seen how badly the midfield needed a boost on Sunday as Celtic took ours apart.
Kwon is a big unit, and will give us some power in there.
Hopefully he won't be the last midfielder to arrive this window.
