It has been revealed in the press tonight that Hibs are on the verge of signing Celtic defender Efe Ambrose.
The Sun newspaper is reporting that the 28-year-old has agreed to join the Hibees on an emergency 93 day loan, following a defensive crisis at Easter Road.
The Hibees have Jordon Forster, Liam Fontaine & Paul Hanlon out injured, with Darren McGregor their only fit centre back. To make matters worse, McGregor misses the Hibees Scottish Cup clash with Ayr United on Saturday, leaving Hibs boss Neil Lennon with no centre backs.
Nigerian international Ambrose only returned to Celtic training today, following the collapse of loan move to Blackburn Rovers due to work permit issues.
Hibs boss Neil Lennon has moved quickly to land the player, and the deal should be announced tommorow (Tuesday), and Ambrose should be available for Wedneday's trip to face St Mirren in Paisley.
