Hibs set to sign Bodo/Glimt Winger Runar Hauge

It's been revealed tonight that Hibs are close to sealing a deal for Bodo/Glimt winger Runar Hauge.

According to the Norwegian news site TV2, Hauge is on his way to Scotland to complete a transfer to Easter Road.

The Hibees have already completed a big money move for striker Elias Melkersen from Bodo/Glimt earlie this window, and are now looking to team him up with his former team mate Hauge.

The 20-year-old has played 11 times for Bodo/Glimt and won the Norwegian Championship in 2020.

He spent this season out on loan with IL Stjordals-Blink in Norway's lower league, where he played 15 games, scoring 1 goal.

Hauge also had a previous loan spell with Grorud IL, also in the lower leagues of Norway.

A transfer fee is involved, but with his contract up this summer, it won't be in the region of Melkersen's.

The down side is Hibs could be made to wait a while for his work permit, like they have for Elias Melkersen.

Hibernian-Mad View:

On paper this looks like another exciting signing for the Hibees.

The deal apparently came about, after Hibs CEO Ben Kensell was contacted by Bodo/Glimt's academy director Gregg Broughton, who he worked with at Norwich City.

Hibs have been busy in this window, which was needed after the poor summer window, and this move, should it be completed, adds even more firepower to a squad badly needing it.
