Hibs set to sign Arsenal defender Harry Clarke

Last updated : 02 January 2022 By Steve Forbes

According to the Scottish Sun, Hibs boss Shaun Maloney is on the verge of his first signing.

The Hibees have agreed a deal to sign defender Harry Clarke, currently on loan at Ross County, from Arsenal.

20-year-old Clarke can play as a central defender or at right back, and his impressive performances for the Staggies have alerted the Hibees.

County boss Malky Mackay is apparently unhappy at losing one of his best performers as his side look to fight off relegation.

Although only 20, Clarke has some decent experience under his belt, having played 17 times for County and 35 times for Oldham Athletic in a previous loan deal.

Hibernian-Mad View:

Well it looks like Clarke will be Maloney's first signing as manager.

The lad has impressed for County, and with it looking like a permanent transfer, Hibs will look to take his development further.

He can play at right back, aswell as in central defence which is a maassive bonus.

Let's hope we get the deal across the line quickly and we can get Harry integrated in to the squad quickly.
