It has been revealed today that Lee Currie will not be offered a new deal by Hibs boss Colin Calderwood. The 20-year-old midfielder was handed a new six month deal in the summer by John Hughes, but has failed to grab his opportunity. Currie was part of the Hibees U19 side that won the treble two years ago, and big things were expected from the Hibs fanatic, but he has failed to make an appearance for the first team. Despite being with the club for 10 years, he will leave at the end of the month, and speaking to the Edinburgh Evening News, he said: "I'm absolutely gutted. I'm a Hibs fan and a local boy and that makes it even worse. I've been there for so long now and it has just come to an end." This could be the start of an expected clear out by new Hibs boss Colin Calderwood. There are 16 players out-of-contract this summer, and big changes are expected at Easter Road over the next six months.
