Hibs have today announced that winger Aiden McGeady has left the club.
The 37-year-old Republic of Ireland international joined the Hibees last summer on a free from Sunderland, but his season has been ruined by injury.
McGeady picked up an ankle injury not long after joining in July and was out for a number of months, only returning in December.
He was just about hitting form after his return but picked up a horrible hamstring injury in February, which kept him out for the rest of the season.
The former Celtic and Spartak Moscow winger managed just 14 appearances for the original green and white.
HIBS-MAD VIEW:
This is probably best for both player and club.
Aiden was on a big wage at Easter Road, so him leaving will free up space in Lee Johnson's budget.
Hibs can now used the wage to bolster the squad this summer.
Good luck Aiden.
