It has been revealed tonight that Hibs will be one of the seeded teams in group 3, for tomorrow’s Europa League 3rd Qualifying Round draw.

There will be two pots for each group, one with the seeded teams and the other with the unseeded clubs.

5 in each pot, although with the 2nd qualifying rounds still to be decided, at this stage, the draw is looking a bit messy.

Along with Hibs as seeded sides in group 3 are, Sporting Lisbon, Austria Vienna or NK Siroki Brijeg (BIH), FK Crvena Zvezda (SRB) and Genk (Bel).

This means Hibs will be drawn against one of the following sides.

FC Nordsjælland (DEN)

ŠK Slovan Bratislava (SVK)

FC International Turku (FIN)

FC Videoton (HUN) OR NK Maribor (SVN)

Valletta FC (MLT) OR KS Ruch Chorzów (POL)

Of course Hibs played Videoton in the Uefa Cup in 1989, winning 4-0 on aggregate. Graham Mitchell giving the Hibees a slender 1-0 lead to take to Hungary.

The Hibees then proceeded to batter their opponents in the second leg, winning 3-0 away from home, through goals from Keith Houchen, Gareth Evans and John Collins.

The draw takes place tommorow (Fri 16th July) at 12.30.
