Hibs midfielder Nohan Kenneh joins Shrewsbury Town on loan

Hibs have today confirmed that midfielder Nohan Kenneh has joined Shrewsbury Town.

The 20-year-old has joined the English League One side on a season-long loan deal.

Kenneh becomes the latest player to leave Easter Road as manager Lee Johnson continues his summer overhaul of the squad.

The youngster joined the Hibees last summer from Leeds United, but had a patchy first few months in Edinburgh, that seen him struggle to nail down a starting spot.

Nohan then joined Ross County on loan for the rest of the season, when the transfer window opened last January, and he managed 18 games for the Staggies.

The Liberian international will now spend the season with the Shropshire side.

Hibs boss Lee Johnson said:

“We believe this loan move is the perfect step for Nohan at this point in his career, in a challenging and physical division.

“We will keep a close eye on his performances, and hope this furthers his development even more.”

HIBS-MAD VIEW

This news comes as a bit of a shock, at the start of the transfer window it seemed Nohan's future was unclear, but he was included in the squad that travelled to Marbella in Spain for the pre-season camp, and featured against FC Europa and Bournemouth in friendly games.

Johnson even said he could feature this season and could even be deployed as a centre half.

A few days later and he's away on loan.

Do Hibs have more in-comings close and this gets a wage off the bill to help?

A season down in English League One will be good for him, hopefully he comes back a better player.

Good luck Nohan.
