Hibs have today confirmed that midfielder Stevie Mallan has joined Turkish side Yeni Malatyaspor.
The 25-year-old has signed a two-year-deal and joins for a fee of around £200,000.
Former St Mirren kid Mallan spent the scond half of last season on loan with the Turks, and has now joined on a permanent deal.
Mallan played 95 times for the Hibees, scoring 20 times.
Editor's View:
This transfer will divide the Hibs support, Mallan still had a lot to offer, but had found himself out the first team picture under Jack Ross.
He tended to fade out of games, but he is a very talented boy, he would have been a good option to have, but he clearly wanted first team football.
This transfer leaves the Hibees pretty short in the centre of midfield, having already lost Jackson Irvine, Fraser Murray and Stephen McGinn.
There is also still questions about the future of Swedish midfielder Melker Hallberg.
Hibs have of-course signed Jake Doyle-Hayes to offset the departures, but another 1 or 2 in there would be good.
Let's hope the £200,000 is re-invested pretty soon.
Hibs-Mad would like to wish Stevie well in his new career move. Good luck kid.
