Hibs have tonight revealed that midfielder Jimmy Jeggo has joined Melbourne City.
The 31-year-old Australian international has returned to his homeland and signed a two-year-deal.
Jeggo becomes the latest player to leave as Hibs boss Nick Montgomery continues his January mini rebuild.
The Hibees have already seen the likes of Elias Melkersen and Riley Harbottle (On loan) leave this window, and we may see a few more yet.
Jeggo signed for Hibs last January from Belgian club Euepen and made 45 appearances in the green and white.
Speaking to the official website, Hibs boss Mony said:
“Firstly we’d like to thank Jimmy for all his efforts during his time with us. He was a model professional and played an important role for the Club.
“After a few discussions with Jimmy, it was decided he would explore some interest he had in his homeland. When Melbourne City came in for him, it made sense for family reasons to let Jimmy pursue that opportunity.
“We wish him all the best for the future.”
HIBS-MAD VIEW
Not a surprise this one, it's been in the works for a week or so.
Hibs have signed central midfielders Luke Amos and Nathan Moriah-Welsh forcing Jeggo down the starting list.
He always gave 100% and Hibs-Mad wishes Jimmy all the best back hom with his new club.
