Hibs have today revealed that midfielder Ewan Henderson has completed his move to Belgian side K.Beerschot V.A.
The 24-year-old has joined the Jupiler Pro League side for an undisclosed six figure fee, with the Hibees also inserting a sell-on clause in the deal.
Henderson spent last season on loan in Belgium, with Challenger Pro league side KV Oostende, where he played 30 games and scored 7 goals, who also had first option to buy him, but they ended up going bankrupt, so the former Celtic man has now moved up a division.
Speaking to the official club website, Hibs boss David Gray said:
“I wish Hendo all the best for the future.
“He showed last season that the style of football in Belgium really suits him and shows off some of his best attributes. I think he will relish a new environment and kick on in his career.”
Henderson joined the Hibees, initially on loan, from Celtic in January 2022, with the transfer to become permanent the following summer.
He ended up playing 55 games, scoring 5 times for the Hibees.
HIBERNIAN-MAD VIEW
A good move for Hendo.
It's a pity it hasn't worked out for him at Hibs, he has bags of potential, but didn't seem to fully blossom at Easter Road.
He did well in Belgium last season and should take to his new club quite quickly.
Thanks for everything Ewan.
