Hibernian FC's midfielder Dylan Tait is poised to terminate the final year of his contract at Easter Road to sign with Falkirk.
The 22-year-old recently completed a half-season loan at the Bairns and appears set to join the anticipated summer departures from the club.
Club icons Paul Hanlon and Lewis Stevenson have been informed that their contracts will not be extended after this summer. Additionally, veteran forward Adam Le Fondre, linked with a departure from Leith, is not expected to renew his contract.
Tait transferred to the Hibees from Raith Rovers in August 2021 for a reported fee of £150,000 and was immediately loaned back to the Kirkcaldy club as part of the agreement.
His tenure at the club saw him make just one appearance, with subsequent loan spells at Kilmarnock, Arbroath, Hamilton Academical, and Falkirk.
HIBERNIAN-MAD VIEW:
This proposed departure is likely the first of several as the Hibees aim to downsize their excessively large squad.
Tait was recruited from Raith with the intention of placing him in the newly formed development team at the time.
However, this plan did not succeed, and we now have several players tied to contracts with the club.
Hibs require a significant clear-out, and whoever undertakes this task will have a huge job on their hands.
