Hibs midfielder Dylan Tait joins Hamilton Accies on loan

Last updated : 03 July 2023 By Steve Forbes

Hibs have this afternoon revealed that young midfielder Dylan Tait has headed out on loan.

The 21-year-old has joined Hamilton Accies on a season-long deal and it's the latest in a number of loan spells.

Tait joined the Hibees in a £150,000 deal from Raith Rovers on transfer deadline day two years ago.

Since then he was loaned straight back to the Kirkcaldy club, and then had further spells with Kilmarnock and the Arbroath.

Tait will now spend the season in League One.

Speaking to the official club website, Hibs boss Lee Johnson said:

“Dylan needs regular game-time and this loan move will provide him with that. We wish him all the best for the upcoming season.”

HIBS-MAD VIEW

Another youngster we paid out a hefty fee for, and another who has spent the builk of his time at Hibs on loan or in development.

Let's hope this loan spell is the one that pushes him into first team contention.

Over the last few seasons Hibs have spent big on youngsters, obviously with an eye to the future, and on paper we have a potentially exciting squad for the future, if they get the chance.

Elias Melkersen (500k), Dylan Tait (150k), Dan Mackay (200k), Reuben McAllister (500k) are the one's off the top of the head we have splashed out on.

Hopefully we will see a few start pushing the first team.

Good luck Dylan.
