Hibs midfielder David Wotherspoon has today signed for SPL rivals St Johnstone.
The 23-year-old has signed a 2-year-deal with the Perthshire side and joins straight away, as his contract at Easter Road had expired.
Wotherspoon will be delighted with the move, due to growing up a St Johnstone supporter and born in Perth.
He had started pre-season at East Mains, despite becoming a free agent on July 1st.
Hibs are thought to have offered the youth academy graduate a new deal, but on reduced terms, which he was said to be mulling over.
Wotherspoon played nearly 150 games for the hibees and scored 9 goals.
Hibs boss Pat Fenlon has allowed a number of out-of-contract players as well as loan players to leave the club as he continues the summer overhaul of his squad.
Sheffield United made an approach for Spoony last summer, but Hibs knocked it back, and Hearts had been keen on his signing before they entered administration last month.
Wotherspoon joins Shefki Kuqi, Eoin Doyle, Pa Kujabi, Gary Deegan, Calum Antell, Leigh Griffiths, Jorge Claros and Matt Done in leaving the club.
Kevin Thomson and Sean Murdoch are also out of contract, but have been offered new deals at Easter Road.
Hibs are also said to be interested in bringing Jorge Claros back to Easter Road.
Hibernian-Mad would like to thank David for his contribution to the club, and wish him all the very best in the future.
