In what could end up being a shocker of a transfer dedline day for Hibs, the press are reporting that the deal for Swindon Town striker Harry McKirdy is off.
The Hibees had agreed a fee, reported as £400,000 up-front is some quarters, with Swindon, and had agreed terms with the player, and he had also travelled to Edinburgh for his medical.
However, reports are claiming that Hibs back-tracked and tried to change the deal, and that both clubs have now walked away from the table.
There still a few hours left of the window, could Hibs get the deal back on? We wait and see.
HIBS-MAD VIEW:
We have defended the club all summer over it's transfer policy and the over-reaction of some of our support, especially surrounding the misinformation that it's Ian Gordon who decides what players we sign.
However, it is his job to go out and get the players the manager wants, so this one lands squarely at his door.
To back out of an already agreed deal makes the club look amateurish and if they fail to get it over the line, and don't come up with a good signing in his place, there is going to be a lot of disgruntled Hibs supporters.
