Hibs manager - Latest Candidate - Richard Money

Last updated : 07 June 2009 By Steve Forbes

Yet another name has entered the frame as Hibs continue their search for a new manager.

Newcastle United reserve team coach Richard Money is the latest name to be linked with the club, following the departure of Mixu Paatelaienen.

The 53-year-old is apparently high on the Hibees wanted list, because of his reputation of coaching young players, as the club look to nurture their all conquering Treble winning U19 side.

Money has managed a number of clubs in his career including Scunthorpe United, AIK (Sweden) and Walsall, and has been linked with the, up until yesterday, vacancy at Port Vale.

He was in charge when Walsall won the English League Two title in 2006/07.

He turned down an approach from Swindon Town last season, and has twice been sought out by Coventry City.

Money joins John Hughes, Jimmy Calderwood, Mark McGhee, Colin Calderwood, Paul Ince, Mark Venus, Martin Ling, Michael O'Neill, Malky MacKay and Jim Gannon on an ever growing list of potential managerial candidates for the Easter Road hot-seat.

Money was part of the victorious Liverpool European Cup winning squad of 1981, he was an unused substitute.

He also went on to play for Fulham, Portsmouth, Luton Town, Scunthorpe Utd and Derby County.
