Hibs are tonight being linked with a summer move for Airdrie United Gary Mackay-Steven.
The 20-year-old midfielder only signed for the Scottish Second Division side in January, after being released by Liverpool, and has been receiving rave reviews. He has scored two goals in ten appearances for the Diamonds, and has impressed a number of visiting scouts. Sky Sports are suggesting that both the Hibees and Kilmarnock are tracking the player, along with a number of other clubs. Mackay-Steven joined Liverpool as a 17-year-old from Ross County, and impressed enough with the Liverpool Academy, that Fulham tried to snap him up in 2009.
Hibs boss Colin Calderwood has a major re-building job on his hands this summer, with 14 players out of contract at Easter Road, and others expected to be shown the door.
