South African international midfielder Matty Pattison is the latest player linked with a move to Easter Road.
Pattison, 25, is currently with South African side Mamelodi Sundowns, who he joined from Norwich City in 2009.
Born in Johannasburg, Pattison moved to England as a child, and joined the Newcastle United youth academy.
He broke into the Magpies first team and played 10 games, before he was loaned out to Norwich City in 2008. He impressed enough for Norwich to make the move permanent once the January transfer window was open, signing for an undisclosed fee.
Pattison then left Norwich in 2009, after playing over 50 games, and joined the Sundowns in an attempt to win a place in the South Africa squad for the 2010 World Cup.
He has so far been capped twice at international level.
Pattison has just completed a trial spell with Leeds Utd, and despite scoring a couple of goals in friendly games, and looking pretty impressive, failed to win a deal at Elland Road.
Hibs boss Pat Fenlon is now keen to take a look at the player.
