According to the Daily Record, Hibs have joined a host of clubs interested in signing Motherwell defender Declan Gallagher.
The Scotland international is a free agent in the summer, and according to the report, the Hibees have joined Celtic, Blackburn Rovers and Aberdeen in the race for his signature.
However, there is a clause in the Scotland internationals contract, that should he play 25 games this season, it automatically triggers a one-year extension.
So far he has played 19 times for the Fir Park side.
The record claim the player DOESN'T want to play the six games that would trigger the extension as it would scupper a move, or his dream move to Celtic.
Editors View:
Gallagher would be a brilliat signing, he has been sensational for Motherwell and Scotland, but we at Hibs-Mad towers can't see the Hibees competing with the wages on offer at Celtic or Blackburn.
It does however argue well for the Hibees ambition under owner Ron Gordon, who has backed his manager in the transfer market.
