According to the Daily Record, Hibs are eyeing a move for Carlisle defender Morgan Feeney.
The 24-year-old is available on a free after his deal with the Brunton park side expired.
However, Hearts and Aberdeen are also said to be keeping tabs on the former Everton, Sunderland and Tranmere player.
6ft 3in Feeney has worked wtih Hibs boss Lee Johnson before and the Hibees will hope that could persuade him to move to Easter Road.
His form is also attracting interest from English League One sides and Hibs could face a fight to land him.
He played 35 times for Carlisle last season, but missed their play-off final win over Stockport at Wembley due to injury.
Feeney started his career with Everton, making two appearances, before moving to Tranmere Rovers on loan.
That loan didn't work out, he only made one appearance.
He then signed a short-term deal with Sunderland under current Hibs boss Lee Johnson, but only made one appearance in the EFL trophy.
Another short-term deal, this time with Carlisle United, was agreed, but he impressed enough to secure a longer stint at the club - he stayed a further two seasons making 87 appearances, but is now a free agent.
HIBS-MAD VIEW:
We don't know much about the player to be honest, but he seems to in good form and attracting interest elswhere so could be a good option.
Hibs only have Paul Hanlon and Rocky Bushiri at centre half currently on the books, but have been working on deals to bring back loanees from last season - Will Fish from Man Utd and CJ Egan-Riley from Burnley.
However, with CJ injured for a while, Johnson may opt to bring in another central defender, and there has already been links with Oxford United defender Stuart Findlay, who we tied to sign in January, but an offer was rejected at the time.
Feeney seems to be on the radar....
