According to a tweet from Pete O'Rourke from Football Insider, Hibs have joined the chase to sign Burton Albion midfielder Terry Taylor.
The tweet read:
‘Hibernian have joined the race to sign Terry Taylor.
‘The 21-year-old Burton Albion midfielder, who is also wanted by Plymouth Argyle, is set to be out of contract this month.’
Taylor is out-of-contract at the Pirelli Stadium this week and it seems Lee Johnson has turned his attention to the Scottish born player.
The HIbees are looking to bolster their midfield with Kyle Magennis leaving for Kilmarnock and questions marks still being raised over the futures of Nohan Kenneh and Ewan Henderson.
Kenneh was loaned out to Ross County in January and Hibs accepted an offer from Wigan for Henderson in in the same month but he turned the move down.
Despite being only 21, Taylor has good experience having played 80 games in his career, most of them with Burton, but also on a short loan deal with Grimsby from then parent club Wolves.
Wolves plucked him from Aberdeen's academy back in 2017 for an undisclosed fee, and Taylor is now a Welsh U21 International, as well as a Scotland U21 International.
However, the Hibees will face a battle to land the player, with Plymouth Argyle also said to be interested.
HIBERNIAN-MAD VIEW
We have to admit, we know nothing about the lad.
He seems to have done well with Burton and is attracting interest elswhere.
Hibs badly need to improve a midfield that was a weak point last season, with too many players not performing or not up to scratch.
Will we make a move for Taylor?
Another rumour to keep an eye on.
