Hibs Ladies have today announced the signing of a new goalkeeper.

Manager Grant Scott has moved quickly to replace the outgoing Bene Haaland, by capturing the experienced American keeper Katie Fraine.

35-year-old Fraine joins the Hibees after leaving Swedish side Eskilstuna United DFF.

Fraine started her career at college with the brilliantly named Florida Gators.

She then played for Tampa Bay and Atlanta Beat, before moving to Sweden with Mallbackens.

Fraine went on to play for a number of Swedish sides, before a short stint in Norway, before returning to Swedn with Eskilstuna.

Speaking to the official website, Katie said:

“I’m very excited to be continuing my career with Hibs. I look forward to meeting the team and getting to work!

"Hibernian is a club with high ambitions and even higher standards. I see a lot of potential in the structure of their programming and the level of professionalism that they are bringing to the game."

Hibs Ladies boss Grant Scott added

“I am delighted to have Katie on board. She brings a wealth of experience and quality to the side.

“We have a young squad, so bringing in someone with Katie’s experience will be invaluable to the team.“

HIBS-MAD VIEW:

Katie looks a good signing for the Ladies, she brings a wealth of experience to the club.

She adds to the list of the ever growing list of American players to play for the Ladies lately, with the likes of Gabby English, Alexa Coyle and Crystal Thomas, amongst others, appearing in the green and white.

Welcome to the Hibees Katie.
