Hibs keeper Matt Macey set join Luton in 100k deal

It's been revealed tonight that Hibs keeper Matt Macey is set join English side Luton Town.

The two club's have been in discussions in the last few days and it seems a deal that will net the Hibees £100,000 is close.

Macey joined the Hibees from Arsenal 18 months ago, initially as back-up to Ofir Marciano, but after the Israel international joined Feyenoord last summer, he became No.1 at Easter Road.

He managed 52 appearances in the green and white, but with the Hibees signing Scotland international David Marshall from QPR, Macey isn't interested in going back to being No.2.

Hibs will most likely go with Polish youngster Kevin Dabrowski as No.2 again after his impressive displays when called upon last season, and No.3, veteran keeper David Mitchell.

HIBS-MAD VIEW:

It's not a surprise to see Macey wanting to head home.

After forcing his way into the No.1 spot, following the departure of Rocky, he won't want to fall down the pecking order behind David Marshall.

He has also played for Luton before, during a loan spell, and they are, of course, a London club.
