Hibs have today been linked with a move for out-of-favour Wolves defender Jason Shackell.
The 6ft 3in centre half has struggled to hold down a regular first team spot since completing a £1m move to Molineux from Norwich City in September 2008.
Shackell was then loaned back to Norwich City in January this year, and played out the rest of the 2008/09 season at Carrow Road.
Hibs boss John Hughes is on the look out for a replacement for former captain Rob Jones, who joined English Championship side Scunthorpe Utd, in a deal that could eventually net the Hibees £800,000.
What is not clear, is whether Hibs will make a bid for the player, or try to tie him down on a loan deal.
The Hibees have brought in £4m this summer from selling Jones and forward Steven Fletcher to Burnley for £3m, and boss John Hughes has already stated that he has money to spend, should he wish to bid for a player.
