According to one of today's Sunday tabloids, Hibs manager Mixu Paatelainen is keen to take Leeds Utd midfielder Peter Sweeney on loan.
Hibs are thought to be in a two-way battle with Brighton for the former Scotland U21 midfielder in an attempt to bring him to Easter Road
Sweeney, 22, started his career at Millwall, were he made 60 appearances for the London club, before he was sold to Stoke City in a £250,000 deal in the summer of 2005.
He made 35 appearances for Stoke before he was sent out on loan at both Yeovil Town and Walsall.
Former Leeds United manager Dennis Wise signed Sweeney in 2008 January transfer window, but he has since falling out of favour at Elland Road since the departure of Wise and the arrival of Gary McAllister.
Sweeney has also been capped 6 times at U21 level for Scotland
The Hibees are set to swoop to take the player on loan according to one of this morning's papers.
