www.Hibernian-mad.co.uk understands that the Hibees have been in talks with Wolves left back Charlie Mulgrew.
The 6ft 2in former Celtic and Dundee Utd left back has been talking to Hibs over the last few weeks, but the move could be in doubt after boss John Collins' departure from the club.
Ex Hibs boss Collins quit last week after he was denied funds to sign former Motherwell left back Steven Hammell from Southend.
We don't know if Mulgrew is one of former boss Collins' targets, but it would seem that he WAS, considering we have been told he's been in contact with Hibs for "a number of weeks" by our source close to the player.
According to the same source, we are STILL in contact with the player, despite not having a manager at this time.
Mulgrew signed for Wolves as part of the deal that took Lee Naylor to Celtic, following a successful spell on loan at Dundee Utd, the player now looks to be on the way out of Molineux after playing only 10 games.
Mulgrew has played three times for the Scotland U21 side and may well see a move to Hibs as a chance to force himself back in to international reckoning.
This move does however seem to edge classy Hibs left back David Murphy closer to the exit at Easter Road, with scouts from Tottenham Hotspur, Birmingham City, Wigan, Aston Villa and Sunderland all in attendance as Murphy scored a screamer at Parkhead on Saturday in Hibs 1-1 draw with Celtic.
Hibs are thought to be looking for £2m for Murphy.
