BBC Radio Humberside are tonight reporting that Hibs are close to sealing a deal for Scunthorpe midfielder Funso Ojo.
Fans favourite Ojo has been missing from the start of Scunthorpe's pre-season training and it had been a bit of a mystery for Irons supporters.
BBC Humberside are claiming that Ojo has agreed to sign for the Hibees, after triggering a relegation release clause in his contract.
However Scunthorpe have apparently claimed no clause has been triggered and this disagreement is why he has not trained.
Ojo has become a popular figure with Scunthorpe supporters after joining from Dutch side Willem II, playing over 30 games and scoring 1 goal in his only season in England.
The hard hitting defensive midfielder has good pedigree having previously played for PSV Eindhoven, including Europa League football and has also played for VV Venlo and Belgians Royal Antwerp.
He has also been capped by Belgium from U15 all the way through to U21 level.
Editor's Thoughts:
Has someone raided the piggy bank while Rodders has been distracted with his new SFA job???
Seriously though, this would be another excellent singing for the Hibees should they pull it off.
At only 27, Ojo still has his best years ahead of him, and Hibs have been lacking a genuine defensive midfielder since the departures of legend Marvin Bartley to Livingston and Australian international Mark Milligan in the summer.
His experience in the Eredivisie and Europa League would add some real quality to the Hibs midfield and he seems keen to head to Edinburgh.
It's now a waiting game for the Hibees, to see if Ojo has indeed triggered the clause.
If he hasn't do Hibs wait around or do they look at other targets?
It's a tough call to make, but if he's our top target in that position, it's maybe worth waiting on.
