Hibs free striker Ryan Shanley - signs for Edinburgh City

Last updated : 02 September 2021 By Steve Forbes

It's been revealed tonight that yet another deal went un-noticed with Hibs on transfer deadline day.

Young striker Ryan Shanley was released by the Hibees before the transfer deadline passed.

This allowed him to sign as a free agent for Edinburgh City.

Shanley, joined the Scottish League Two side, initially on loan, at the start of the season, but this has now become permanent.

He only managed two appearances for the Hibees first team, once in the Premiership and once in the League Cup.

20-year-old Shanley has had previous loan spells with Civil Service Strollers, Forfar Athletic and Irish side Finn Harps.

ED'S VIEW:

We are not surprised by this one.

Ryan showed up pretty well when he played, but he was never going to oust the likes of Boyle, Nisbet and Doidge.

He also had fellow youngster Jamie Gullan in his way.

Good luck to Ryan with his new club.
