Kilmarnock have today revealed that Hibs have entered talks with their out-of-contract midfielder Jamie Hamill. Hibs boss Colin Calderwood has contacted the Rugby Park outfit to inform them the Hibees will hold talks with the gaol scoring midfielder about a pre-contract agreement. The 24-year-old has been in good form for Killie this season, scoring 10 times, and Calderwood is keen to add him to his squad, as he rebuilds the Easter Road men this summer. Hibs have 15 players out-of-contract this summer, and with most of them expected to leave, it will be a busy time down Easter Road during pre-season. Killie chairman Michael Johnson said:
“We have received an approach from Hibs, to say they would like to talk to Jamie Hamill over a possible contract for next season.
“We are also in contract talks with Jamie and his agent and we still remain confident that we can get him to sign a new deal with Kilmarnock."
Hamill broke through the youth system at Rugby Park, and has now played nearly 150 games for Killie, scoring over 20 goals for the club.
