Hibs development side was back in action this afternoon, with a match against a Brentford B side at Easter Road.
The Hibees had Ofir Marciano, Joe Newell, Fraser Murray and Oli Shaw getting a run out from the first team.
Brentford had recently released Hibs defender Kane O'Connor in their ranks.
The Hibees raced into a 3-0 through a Shaw double and a goal from Josh Campbell.
Brentford pulled a goal back before half time after a clumsy challenge from Joe Newell, who we think was playing in defence, handed them a penalty.
The English side pulled another goal back in the second half, but Hibs held on for a win in front of a small crowd.
Up next for Hibs are friendlies with Aberdeen and Celtic.
Hibs XI:
Marciano, Block, Doig, Sadiki, Stirling, I Murray, F Murray, Campbell, Shaw, Newell, Gullan.
Subs: Martin, Yeats, Shanley, Bradley, Galantes, Fairley, Leddie.
You can watch the whole game on youtube.
Editor's View:
A good run out and against different opposition from the norm, which is the reason Hibs pulled out of the SPFL reserve league.
Hibs have already had games against Newcastle United U23's and Huddersfield this season as part of the new program.
Oli Shaw looking sharp up top for the Hibees.
