Hibs have today revealed that young defender Rory Whittaker has went out on loan.
The 16-year-old right back has joined Scottish League Two side Spartans until January.
Whittaker was handed his debut by ex boss Nick Montgomery, and became the youngest player to ever play for Hibs at aged 16 years and 44 days.
He managed to play 14 times for the club in his breakthrough season.
Speaking to the official club website, Hibs boss David Gray said:
“Rory is a young player that has continued to impress me in pre-season, but due to the number of options we have at right-back, his game-time would be limited.
“Rory needs to be tested physically week in, week out, and I’m sure he will relish this challenge.”
HIBERNIAN-MAD VIEW
A good move for young Rory.
He aquitted himself well when given his first team chance, but given that he has Kanayo Megwa, Chris Cadden and Lewis Miller all in front of him, a loan move away is ideal.
Good luck Rory.
