According to Sky Sport News, Hibs boss Pat Fenlon has told Michael Hart he can leave the club.
SSN are reporting that Hart, 31, has been told his services are no longer required.
The former Aberdeen, Livingston and Preston full back has been plauged with injury and bad form since signing for the Hibees in the summer of 2010.
He again suffered a bad groin injury in the summer, and has struggled to hold down a place at Easter Road since his return.
Hart's departure would follow quickly on the heels of Junior Agogo, Matt Thornhill, Victor Palsson and David Crwford exits from the club during the January tarnsfer window.
Akpo Sodje, Martin Scott and Sean Welsh are others who have been linked with moves away from Easter Road.
