Hibs have this afternoon confirmed that defender Jordon Forster has joined Cheltenham Town.

The 23-year-old has signed a two-year-deal with the English League Two side.

Speaking to the official Town website, he said:

"I'm really looking forward to getting started and playing some games.

"It became clear to me that my game time at Hibernian might be limited so when I heard that Cheltenham Town were interested it was very happy to speak to the manager and I liked what I heard. He told me about his plans for the season and his philosophy. I also spoke to Liam Fontaine, who I know from Hibs, and he played for the manager at Bristol City and told me some good things so I was more than happy to come down."

Forster broke through the Hibees youth system, making his debut in a memorable 1-2 Edinburgh derby win over Hearts at Tynecastle in May 2013.

He went on to play in the 2013 Scottish Cup Final loss to Celtic, he racked up 79 appearances in a Hibs jersey, scoring 6 goals.

Forster was part of last seasons Championship title winning squad, making 23 appearances overall.

He also had three loan spells away from Easter Road, with East Fife, Berwick Rangers and Plymouth Argyle.

Hibernian-Mad would like to wish Jordon the very best at his new club.
