Hibernian FC announced today that defender Jacob Blaney has transferred to Crusaders FC.
The 19-year-old has agreed to a two-year deal with the NIFL team and is set to participate in their upcoming UEFA Conference League campaign.
Hibernian received a nominal transfer fee and included a sell-on clause in the deal for the 6ft 2in defender.
Blaney has made two appearances for Hibernian's first team and has been on loan at Stenhousemuir and East Fife.
Additionally, he was a member of the Hibernian U19 team that competed in the UEFA Youth League for the first time in the 2022/23 season, where the young team from Easter Road eliminated Nantes and Molde before being defeated 1-2 by Borussia Dortmund, with Blaney scoring for his team.
Blaney has been with Hibernian since he was nine years old.
HIBERNIAN-MAD VIEW
Another one out the door down Leith, as the club looks to lighten the size of the squad at ER.
Blaney could never be considered a first team player, but he did well when he got his chance.
This is a good move for the kid, especially with the chance of European football
Good luck Jacob..
