Hibs defender Jack Brydon joins FC Edinburgh

Last updated : 12 July 2022 By Steve Forbes

Hibs have today announced that young defender Jack Brydon has joined FC Edinburgh on loan.

Brydon, 18, spent the second half of last season on loan with the Meadowbank side, and will now join up with the Citizens for a season long loan.

He is the first player to take advantage of the new club link-up, and will be managed by former Hibs defender Alan Maybury.

Speaking to HIBS TV, Maybury said:

“It was unfortunate at the end of last season because Jack had an injury when I came in, so I wasn’t able to get the best out of him, but he was there every day and itching to be part of it.

“We’re delighted to get him back for the upcoming season. We had to wait because he went away with the First Team at Hibs.

“We got him back in this week and there’s little details that I’ve noticed in training so far; the line he takes, how aggressive he is – and I don’t just mean from a physical point, it’s about how he plays and approaches the game – and the attributes he has will be a big plus for us this season.”

Jack has already had two loan spells with Civil Service Strollers, Stenhousemuir and a previous spell with FC Edinburgh.

HIBS-MAD VIEW:

Jack has been in and around the first team for a while now. and is clearly very highly thought of at Easter Road.

He has had previous loan deals away from ER and the more game time that gets into these kids in mens football, the better.

League One will be another step-up for him, let's hope he continues to improve.

Good luck Jack.
