Hibs have this afternoon confirmed the signing of goalkeeper Scott Gallacher.
The 27-year-old has signed a short-term deal until the end of the season.
Gallacher was released by St Mirren earlier this week.
Hibees boss Neil Lennon has moved to sign another goalkeeper after No.1 Ofir Marciano picked up another injury, in the 1-8 Scottish Cup win over Bonnyrigg Rose.
With the club also releasing Finnish keeper Otso Virtanen, and the injury to academy keeper Maciej Dabrowsk, it left the club with only one fit keeper.
Gallacher will act as back-up to Marciano and Ross Laidlaw.
Speaking to the official website, Gallacher said:
“It’s absolutely fantastic to join Hibs and it’s a great opportunity for me and I’m ready to go.
“It’s good competition for places here and we’re all at a very good standard. It was a good standard out at training, even if it was a wee bit nippy. It’s just a short-term deal, so I’ll keep my head down, work hard and see what becomes of it.”
Gallacher has previously played for Rangers and Hearts, and follows Chris Humphreys in joining during the January transfer window.
Welcome to the Hibees Scott.
