Hibs have today confirmed that head coach Tommy Craig has left the club by mutual consent.

Craig arrived at Easter Road as assistant to ex boss John Collins and stood in after Collis left the Hibs hot seat.

The former
Newcastle coach and Hibs have come to an agreement and he has now left the club.

The undoubted high point for the former Hibs player was winning the CIS Cup last March at Hampden, with a 5-1 win over Kilmarnock, in front of 30,000 fanatical Hibees.

Speaking to the official club webstie, www.hibernianfc.co.uk, Craig said:

"I enjoyed my time at Hibernian with the obvious high being the CIS Cup Final win over Kilmarnock and would like to thank everyone at the club for the past fourteen months."

Also speaking to the official site, Hibs chairman Rod Petrie also described his gratitude towards Craig by saying:

"We are very grateful to Tommy for his hard work and contribution to the club, particularly when he took charge of first team matters in difficult circumstances.

"Tommy has played his part in ensuring a smooth transition and we wish him and his family every happiness in the future."

Craig will be replaced by Tranent Juniors boss Stevie McLeish, who quit at the weekend to take up the post.
McLeish was part of big Mixu's backroom staff at Cowdenbeath.
