Maybury on his way back to Edinburgh???

With the January transfer window still four weeks away, Hibs have been linked with approaches for a number of players already, including Ian Murray and Killie striker Colin Nish.

The latest to be linked with the Hibees is ex Hearts full back Alan Maybury!!

The 29-year-old defender can play in either full back position, the centre of defence or on the right side of midfield.

Maybury is currently out of favour at
Leicester City, after being placed on the transfer list by former manager Martin Allen. Sunderland enquired about his availability last season, but it's unlikely that they would still be interested, now they are in the Premiership.

Our mole inside the BBC has informed us that Maybury is on the list of players that Hibs manager John Collins handed to chairman Rod Petrie as targets for the January transfer window.

Hibs chances of landing the former
Republic of Ireland defender may be greatly enhanced with the fact that Maybury has only appeared twice for the Foxes this season, both coming as a sub in the Carling Cup after losing his place to French defender Bruno N'Gotty.

The former Leeds Utd, Crewe Alexandra and
Reading defender could be tempted into a return to Edinburgh with the Hibees in the near future, although wages could once again be a stumbling block, with Maybury thought to be on £10,000+ down South.
