Hibs chasing Carlisle United defender Danny Livesey??
Last updated : 03 July 2008 By Steve Forbes
Hibs have tonight been linked with a move to bring Carlisle defender Danny Livesey to Easter Road.
Livesey, 23, is the captain of the League One side after he joined from Bolton Wanderers in 2004.
According to reports down south, Livesey is at Easter Road for signing talks, although this could be a red herring as Hibs boss Mixu Paatelainen is currently in Sweden watching Intertoto Cup opponents IF Elfsborg.
It is unclear as to what the fee involved would be for a player who was named in the English League One team of the year last season.
The former Bolton defender joined Carlisle on Christmas Eve of 2004 when they played in the English conference and played a huge part in Carlisle gaining promotion to League One.
Livesey is contracted to the Brunton Park side until 2010 and his a popular player for the Cumbrians and Carlisle would be reluctant to let him go.
Update:
According to some sources south of the border, Livesey has now put in a transfer request at Blundell Park.
